Your First Tango Lesson
Your first Tango lesson is the beginning of a new journey. You don't need to know any steps, have previous experience, or consider yourself a “dancer.”
At TANGart, you will learn from the beginning, in a friendly and supportive environment. You will discover the basic principles of Argentine Tango, learn how to move with the music and, most importantly, begin to discover the connection and communication that make Tango unique.
All you need is comfortable clothes and an open mind to try something new.
Do I Need a Partner?
No! You can start Tango without a partner.
In TANGart group classes, students change partners during the lesson. This gives you the opportunity to dance with different people, learn to adapt and develop better communication through dance.
Tango is a social dance. You don't need to come with your partner or a friend. Come alone and you will meet the TANGart community.
Do I Need Previous Experience?
Not at all.
Beginner classes are designed for people who are starting from zero. You don't need to have done another type of dance, be physically fit, or know anything about music.
We progress step by step and at your own pace. From the first lessons, you will begin to understand how the body works, how we communicate with our partner and how we create the dance through the music.
Tango isn't about having “talent.” It's a skill that develops through practice, observation and enjoying the dance.
What Will I Learn?
At TANGart, you don't simply learn a sequence of steps.
You will learn the fundamental principles of Argentine Tango and gradually develop:

Our goal isn't for you to memorize choreographies. We want you to understand Tango, feel the music and be able to create freely through dance.

More than steps: tango as a living culture
Alejandro Larenas and Marisol Morales are Argentine maestros, directors, and head teachers of TANGart. They have been dancing and teaching together since 2004, presenting their work at major tango communities and events around the world.
Their teaching is based on improvisation, musicality, connection, and meaningful communication within the couple—not on memorizing choreography.
